The center of Amsterdam is a UNESCO World Heritage Site – and it’s not hard to see why. During a canal tour in Amsterdam you will be amazed by the gorgeous 17th century canal houses, old merchant houses from the Dutch Golden Age, the charming bridges and the Dutch cyclists biking along the canals. And look! There’s the Skinny Bridge and the Montelbaanstoren! But Amsterdam is so much more than just old buildings – many new architectural masterpieces have been built along the Piet Heinkade on the IJ river.

Are the canal cruises in Amsterdam of Blue Boat also wheelchair accessible?

Yes, Blue Boat is the only canal cruise company that has wheelchair accessible boats. If there’s a passenger in a wheelchair in the group, a reservation must be made in advance. Select one of the following time slots to get on a boat that is wheelchair accessible: 10:30 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM, 3:30 PM and 5 PM. To ensure a spot on a wheelchair-accessible boat, we recommend booking in advance. During the booking process, you can easily indicate that someone in your party uses a wheelchair, so we can make sure everything is arranged smoothly. Do you have any questions? Feel free to contact our reservations team at 020-6791370.

Is the City Canal Cruise in Amsterdam also great for children?

If your children are a bit older (10+), then our regular City Canal Cruise through Amsterdam will be very nice and interesting for them. They can listen to the audio and look at the beauty of the city. For younger children, you can book tickets for our Kids Cruise. While parents listen to the regular audio guide, kids go on an adventure with Johnny the Mouse and Harold the Cat – he wants to be a pirate but he’s afraid of water! Each child also receives a fun, accompanying activity package with pencils when they board the boat. This way, both young and old can enjoy a canal tour in Amsterdam.
